Now - I may completely wrong here, but I have been a bit puzzled about the benefits of 'baby porridge.' I have noticed companies like Cow and Gate and Boots selling it, and I can't quite work out why it's any better than regular porridge.
Cow and Gate mention that their porridge contains 1/3 of a baby's daily vitamins, but regular porridge contains zinc, vitamin B6, iron, folic acid, calcium and magnesium.
Their Baby Porridge costs £2.05 from Boots (for 125g), compared to 1kg of regular porridge coming in at 99p from Tesco. Is that over 10 times more expensive than the natural stuff?
Nutritionally, are they that much different? Can they be that much different?
